Deuteronomy 28:30-31

30 aYou shall betroth a wife, but another man shall ravish her. bYou shall build a house, but you shall not dwell in it. cYou shall plant a vineyard, but you shall not enjoy its fruit. 31Your ox shall be slaughtered before your eyes, but you shall not eat any of it. Your donkey shall be seized before your face, but shall not be restored to you. Your sheep shall be given to your enemies, but there shall be no one to help you.

Deuteronomy 28:47-48

47 dBecause you did not serve the Lord your God with joyfulness and gladness of heart, because of the abundance of all things, 48therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger and thirst, in nakedness, and lacking everything. And he ewill put a yoke of iron on your neck until he has destroyed you.

Judges 6:3-6

3For whenever the Israelites planted crops, the Midianites and fthe Amalekites and gthe people of the East would come up against them. 4They would encamp against them hand devour the produce of the land, as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance in Israel and no sheep or ox or donkey. 5For they would come up with their livestock and their tents; they would come ilike locusts in number—both they and their camels could not be counted—so that they laid waste the land as they came in. 6And Israel was brought very low because of Midian. And the people of Israel jcried out for help to the Lord.

Psalms 128:2

2You kshall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands;
you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.

Ecclesiastes 2:24

24 lThere is nothing better for a person than that he should meat and drink and find enjoyment

Ecclesiastes 5:18-20

18Behold, what I have seen to be pgood and fitting is to eat and drink and find enjoyment
Or  and see good
in all the toil with which one toils under the sun the few days of his life that God has given him, for this is his rlot.
19Everyone also to whom sGod has given twealth and possessions uand power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toilthis is vthe gift of God. 20For he will not much remember the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with joy in his heart.

Ecclesiastes 6:2

2a man wto whom xGod gives wealth, possessions, and honor, so that he ylacks nothing of all that he desires, yet God zdoes not give him power to enjoy them, but a stranger enjoys them. This is vanity;
The Hebrew term hebel can refer to a “vapor” or “mere breath”; also verses 4, 9, 11 (see note on 1:2)
it is a grievous evil.

Ecclesiastes 9:7

Enjoy Life with the One You Love

7Go, abeat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do.
